Om Nom, ZeptoLab's cuddly little green monster, makes the leap from your iPhone to your browser via sleek HTML5 in the physics puzzle game Cut the Rope. A knock at your door delivers the tiny green dude in a box, along with the instructions to feed him with candy, so that's exactly what you're going to do! Click and drag across the screen to cut through ropes and drop the tasty treats down Om Nom's gullet. As it falls, the candy can grab you the three bonus stars scattered around the level... provided you weren't just slicing willy-nilly and can master the various obstacles and elements that are introduced as you play.
Cut the Rope makes the transition to your browser more or less gracefully, and is a beautiful showcase of just what HTML5 can really do. While there are only a few sets of levels available to play unless you want to boot up Internet Explorer and install the game (for free) to your toolbar, it's still a great way to get a taste of what the game has to offer. It's a simple concept with a lovely presentation that's the perfect treat to indulge in for a few minutes.
IE 9 users should use this link to play.
The name reminds me of 'you have to burn the rope' ^^
Hmm..it tells me I have to play box 3 on Explorer 9. I load the game in Explorer (9.0.8) and the game won't load because "Cut the Rope best runs in the newest version of Internet Explorer 7".
Seems even the IE download link in the game (played in Chrome) is to an IE version earlier than 9.0.8.
Really nice game! Great mechanics, great level design, great everything. But making me download ie9 to play the rest is kind of low! LoL. Ah.. what the hell. Let's see what ie9 has to offer now :) (they're using games to advertise, we have to support that!)
And why is it so slow on my machine? I have a computer adapted to run crysis like a breeze, slowing down on this doesn't really advertise html5 very well.
ok.. The link above won't work from IE9. You have to go directly to http://www.cuttherope.ie/
Also, it runs suspiciously much faster now.
Thanks Diego. Much faster indeed. And I agree, it is a beautiful game. I find it much more challenging and enjoyable than the previous Cut the Rope games.
ACtually, I have a good explanation why it's so much faster with IE9 (everything is). I'm in a 64 bits windows and this is the only browser so far that has a 64 bits version, considering the latest version of each one :|
Do you have to cut the rope?
I agree with BuenoCabra. Can't I just Burn The Rope? :)
Yeah.. if it doesn't work in Firefox, it doesn't exist.
@baba44713 Agreed!
I love this game on my phone, and it's nice to see a browser version. I actually found the "behind the scenes" (top right corner) to be an interesting look at how the game got ported over to work with HTML5/Javascript. I can't say I quite understood all of it, but it was interesting nonetheless.
Ironically, the intro movie worked in FF, but not later in IE...
Reply to comment 1: "You have to burn the rope is Level 14 in the game Invention Suspention.
You have to use your chopper, light the fuse of the bomb whoa nelly) and burn the rope. Then drop the bomb to the gate. It will explode and you will get the part. Drop it in the tube.
Apparently the game now works in Firefox too. Not only that, but you can play the third box also, even without installing IE9 (although it still says you need it and the interface is kinda buggy).
Anyways, this is still an extremely subpar version of the great iPhone/Android game. Works ok as a demo, but it's nowhere near as fun, and 18 (+9) levels cannot be even remotely compared to 250 levels in the "real" version.
i am happy when i play cut the rope,,,i feel relax when i play it.....i love to play forever....and its challenging to everyone.....like like like like like like like!!!!!!!!!!
this is the best awesome game in the world
