Doesn't work, just gives me two errors.
:(
[Try it again. John switched the file on me last minute and I had the wrong file trying to load into the IF interpreter. Sorry! -Jay]
Before even playing this I'm just going to quote the Demoman on you guys:
"[slurred]...I love you man"
Happy April Fools' Day, everypony!
My favorite:
Whoops! It turns out this table is actually a chart!
That was awesome.
How do I start this game?
Clicking on the image or the large green "Play JayIsPonies" button should open a page with our Flash-based interactive fiction interpreter on it. Then, click on the game window to give it focus, and use your keyboard to enter numeric selections from those given, as with a menu of options. The first input will be [1], as there are no other choices.
OMG fun game but whatever you do, do NOT activate the screamer in the labyrinth. you will be sorry!
First of all, this is brilliant. You gu... I mean, ponies... rock. This absolutely made my day :)
Second of all, halp! I'm stuck in the Catacombs!
I've tried every option I can find to get out of that door, landing myself first in the maze of doors, doors, and more doors, and then into a DARK ROOM, and then into the light and more doors. I've made it back into the central chamber only to find myself in the same maze. I've even taken the "namby-pamby" options with no success (because that sock doesn't really count, lame celebration aside). Is there any way out?! Or will this pony be left to rot forever?!
Seriously, though, anyone have any tips to get out? Thanks.
Hahaha, POP strikes again. Brilliant. Shows me for thinking inside the box.
Bwahaha! They wouldn't be good catacombs without requiring some sneaky logic to escape. >:)
Congratulations on your new footwear cutiemark!
Agh, this game just shut down my computer at 50% loaded! And the loading sequence is just too freaking LONG! Anyone know how to fix this?
[The game shouldn't take any more than a couple seconds to load (it's a tiny 250KB). Our Flash IF interpreter has been tested on a variety of platforms, and this game has been tested on Mac, Windows and Linux systems. What OS, browser and Flash Player are you using? -Jay]
Ponies on JayIsGames yay! /]
Did I just get
smooshed by a pizza :)
Nice one Cyril
There really needs to be a book called Esoteric References for JiG Reviewers now.
It- It was a reference to another
April Fools Day Game
which did what I described and wasn't actually a real game.
Of course! *slaps forehead*
I guess I just go into *fix it* mode when I hear people having trouble.
Carry on. :)
Me thinks, me found an unintentional bug:
In Pizza Box #4, choosing 2 chooses the goggles, but also tries to turn on the lantern.
I'm afraid it's "Esoteric Referenecs for JiG Reviewers," which seems somehow far less appealing than the alternative...
Best. Game. Ever.
I am very much stuck in the catacombs. I know the password and how to enter it, but I don't know how to get the pizza. Please help!
Wow, I'm stupid.
I overlooked the pizza slice in the book.
Escaping the catacombs:
Go to the door, and instead of picking a number (which all will result in the same result) say the password: PortesOuvres.
Pizza:
Call of Pony Pizza: Zap the duck with the gun.
Under Construction Pizza: Ask nicely.
Catacomb Pizza: Choose to go your own way, leave Phosphorene alone, go left, open the coffin.
Labyrinth: South, South, West, North, then type YZZYX.
Zombie Pony World: Get to their king, and that's all you need.
cjquines,
It's actually a right turn to the crypt, and the fastest way to get there is to charge down at the very start :)
I think this IS the book called "Esoteric References for JIG Reviewers."
This game is still fun to play on april 2nd. Actually as odd as it seems, it might even be fun on any other day. Mark my words.
Yay interactive fiction! Yay inform! Also, someone really needs to do a comparative thesis on this game versus the immortal "Phred Phontious and the Quest for Pizza".
I'm stuck at the Labyrinth stage start. If I pick a number of the offered objects (goggles, etc.), it says "LET'S TRY THAT AGAIN." What do I do?
Thanks for the awesome April Fools treat! xD
Love the game, it is soo funny! Thanks JIG!
I found one bug though, on labyrinth I picked a wrong equipment and goes game over. When I try again but picked another wrong equipment it give me option try again instead showing me a scene of defeat.
Glad everyone is enjoying it!
Also, we did have a few bumps in the Labyrinth world, but they'll be fixed when we update the game.
Yay! Thanks for including a reference to
a maze of twisty little passages
and
yzzyx
Ah, memories of a misspent youth.
I didn't know you could use Inform with flash so easily. I wish more developers would use it.
Personally, it would have been more immersive with muffins.
Awesome pony, right?
>no
That's not an option.
You guys are seriously the best for that
Zoombinis reference.
It took me a while to get it, but when I did I was instantly transported to my childhood. Good job guys, I was laughing for at least a minute on that one!
Sooooo, I got a slice from each portal, but when I went to see the king he acted like I didn't have a complete pizza. The only option it gave me was to go back and keep looking. Unfortunately, although the various references are amusing, this game isn't nearly good enough for me to be willing to go back and redo it all. Ah well.
novascottch: The option to present the pizza only shows up if you have all 5 slices. Type "i" to look at your inventory. You should see the following items there:
Greek pizza (found in The Catacombs)
Mushroom pizza (found in Tricky's Labyrinth)
Hawaiian pizza (found in Call of Pony)
Cyber venison pizza (found in Hunting Grounds)
Pineapple pizza (found in Zombie Pony World)
If not, you can head back to find the missing slice(s). Or, there's a cheat you can use:
Go to Hubbe and type "cheater" without the quotes. It gives you all the slices and sends you to the king.
Hi guys!
This is a secret that you get at the end of the game.
At the end of the game, you get a scroll and it says something like this:
Next time you're at Hubbe, type this: secret.
When you type it, you get shown a really good pony picture:
~__/>
// \\
That is the pony picture you get shown.
(The picture in the game is better, (reply if you think I did a great job) but I tried my best!)
Have a good day guys!
A pony with a diamond tiara? Hmmm...
This was the cutest game I've ever played. Seriously. Long live, Jay!
"Get ye flask."
Dungeonman reference! YES.
AND a Zoombinis reference. Gah. I'm in love with this game.
my favorite part:
discussing what color the drapes should be in the zombie king's castle
Hey Jay!It is stuck on loading screen
D:
The game is loading fine for me. What OS, browser and Flash Player versions are you running?
