It starts out as just another ordinary day for you, paranormal investigator extraordinaire, with your best canine friend Rocky in tow. You take the normal calls and head out to perform the typical jobs - putting in charms and other device to ward away the evil spirits, cleaning Satanic drawings off a bedroom wall, and the like.
Not all of your clients are completely happy customers though - sometimes, you get a relative who answers the phone claiming that you are bonkers or that they did it only at their wife's insistence, sure that you are merely a waste of their hard-earned money. But in any case, you do your job as assigned, diligently placing your paraphernalia throughout their homes and driving off to the next location.
One call seems a bit...different, however, when a door slams (and locks) behind you and you begin to search for an alternative way out of there. Of course this had to happen, though surely, you figure, it's nothing more than some sort of trick. But when the unimaginable happens to Rocky, it's time for vengeance. You'll discover the ultimate weapon you need to seek out revenge and punish those little monsters into oblivion, for good! Because when things get tough, the spooks get going!
Overcursed is played with mouse-only controls, and you see the area as a two-dimensional cross-section, for example the houses that you enter. You control movement using the mouse, which can be a bit tricky in managing the different elevations. You'll notice a line dropping down from your cursor location, and this will indicate the spot (and hence which floor) your character will travel to if you click there. Further instructions and controls are available in the game as prompts as you uncover them. Enjoy, because even though Halloween may be well past, some spirits never rest.
