Wix pays homage to Valve's iconic puzzle platformer Portal 2 with Portal 2D, a game about a really good sandwich. Like, really really good, if you're willing to plunge into a mysterious chasm after it. Suddenly, you find yourself in the ruins of a mysterious facility where the technology still seems to be functioning and you find one very familiar gun... one that can shoot portals you can use to traverse obstacles. Use the [WASD] or [arrow] keys to move, [F] to pick up or put down objects, and the mouse to aim and fire portals, which can only be placed on white surfaces. The goal of each stage is to get to the capsule to take you to the next level, and getting there means figuring out how to get around obstacles using your portal gun, triggering switches, manipulating momentum, and more. After playing, there will be baked comestibles.
Wix is hardly the first to take Portal to your browser, as We Create Stuff proved with Portal: The Flash Version. Portal 2D offers a clean, polished design, subtle atmosphere, and providing its own set of tightly designed levels to get your gears turning rather than just attempting to recreate every stage from the Portal 2 game itself. As the stages progress, more and more new elements add layers of complexity, but the compact areas and flat, 2D sideview that lets you see everything at once means you're rarely left wandering around in bewilderment. The game does a great job of creating puzzles that deliver that satisfying "ah-ha!" moment that makes its source material so popular, but does unfortunately lack a lot of the snarky charm. As a result, Portal 2D is a fun, clever, well-designed diversion that isn't necessarily particularly memorable, but more than satisfies that puzzle platforming itch.
I barely made it pass level 12, and I gave up at level 13.
The light bridges seem to crash the game.
I loved portal 2 so this is a nice throwback.
Level 9 glitch: If you aren't facing to the right when you stand on the launcher, it won't let you through your portal.
Is the sandwich a lie?
played this before. the levels are incredibly simple.
up till you get to lvl 23.
I've played this game on several sites and the lvl 23 glitch, just will not let me go past to the next few levels.
By glitch on level 23, do you mean you can't maintain jump velocity after moving the portal over to the platform on the right? If so, I'm experiencing that issue too, and it's VERY annoying. I've managed to jump high enough twice, but lack the ability to move far enough to the right to get to the escape pod. About to rage quit.
yeah. your able to maintain velocity the entire time... UNTIL you move the portal to the right. I've not ONCE made it high enough to get over to the pod.
and I've tried it on several different websites/browsers.
Either we're doing it wrong, or it's a game fail.
Many times I try to jump down by closing the portal directing a lightbridge and get glitched wiggling in midair, I would like the game if it didn't seem that every room was separately coded.
I'd love to play this game but it doesn't correctly read keys from my non-US keyboard in US layout.
For Level 23, you don't need to shift the portal while falling.
Get your velocity up by jumping off the lightbridge.
Put portal 1 (p1) under the dissolved floor below the escape pod. Put portal 2 (p2) high on the wall opposite the lightbridge.
Jump through p1 - you should land on the lightbridge.
Move to the edge of the lightbridge and put p2 on the floor below you. Now jump down directly into p2. You should exit p1 with enough velocity to go through the dissolved floor and reach the pod.
@Phil B. Thank you. I was not able to beat the game without this.
