Rain in the Month of January
Sometimes there's nothing more relaxing or refreshing than a rainy day. There's a zen-like sort of peace found in listening to the droplets pattering against the ground and taking in the clear and wonderful fresh air. Unfortunately, we can't always take the time to enjoy the rain when it rolls through which is what makes a game like Rain in the Month of January such a delight.
Created by Gage Melton, aka IndieGage, for the Global Game Jam 2017, Rain in the Month of January is a brief and meditative interactive fiction set during a dark and drizzly evening. Guided by a series of streetlamps, enjoy the gentle, rhythmic sound of rainfall paired with a gorgeous soundtrack composed by Matt Slifka as you drift around, talking to various people about the weather. Although brief, Rain in the Month of January is curiously meditative and a surprisingly thoughtful snapshot of humanity that's not to be missed. Get cozy, plug in your headphones, and enjoy a few special moments of bliss.
Rain in the Month of January is free/pay what you want through Itch.io and available for download for Windows or Mac. If you enjoyed the game, please do consider leaving its creator a tip.
