The Lost Strawberry
There's moment when you just... crave something. It can be a drink, it can be a fruit. In this particular case you're after strawberries, which is not a very odd request. It is when you need to platform yourself through different kinds of levels. It get even harder when the background visuals start to interfere more and more with the actual game assets.
The Lost Strawberry brings difficulty to a next level. Don't let the cute pixelated visuals fool you, the difficulty is right up there, together with "this game is almost unplayable".
But I've finished the game, which proves that it IS playable, but just very very hard. Sometimes you really can't see where you need to jump next or where those bullets come from.
The Lost Strawberry is controlled by the cursor keys and you use Z to jump and X to dash (when you touch a certain floating coin). Audio and visuals are really balanced out, but you better prepare yourself for a lot of frustration when you start this game.
I can't find a link to the game anywhere, all of the links on the page direct to the review.
Jesus christ it took me forever to figure out there are vines you can climb by pressing the up arrow. Must have died 50 times just trying to make the first jump.
Btw @Jamilworm a quick google search will pull it up.
Personally I think the X-mas version is better (has a color palette that is a lot easier to parse out), although it doesn't have the story :/
Sorry, it's fixed now.
The game's instructions tell you how to change its color palette (from the pause menu which you bring up with Enter/P). Light-on-dark combinations make the foreground platforms stand out against the splatter.
It also mentions (under a spoiler warning) that the screen corruption
from each "essence" goes away if you let it respawn. It sounds like the corruption remaining on screen after death is a bug, but you can avoid that for most of the game by playing carefully.
With those in mind, the game shouldn't be too difficult, but I too recommend the X-mas version (practically a different game) if you want something less stressful.
