Hi! Weekday Escape and Weekday Puzzle are here!
From tomoLaSiDo we got an escape from the apartment with one basket - quite easy this time - followed by a short and strange game from Becky. Then follow two puzzlers, the first by Johan Peitz has you building bridges in hell and the second by Joseph Mansfield has you trying to make the various sections of a large electrical circuit work.
Have a good time and enjoy!
Notice: I will not be publishing any posts for the rest of this week and next week. However, if there is a great quality game it will be published.
Escape Challenge 184: Room with Basket
In tomoLaSiDo's apartment is one basket only and it's the one you can see on the table. You need its content to solve several puzzles but you can leave the room without it...it's up to you whether you decide escape without the basket or solve the last puzzle and get a perfect end with little red ribbon.
The cursor isn't changing, no save option, one end.
End of the Hourglass
Becky's short experimental game is a simple escape game where you search for codes and objects as usual. What sets it apart is the dark atmosphere in the room - don't let it overwhelm you and go out into the colourful world - at least that's what it looks like through the open door.
The cursor is changing, no save option, one ending.
Hellgineers
Johan Peitz's puzzler is not a platformer - even though it looks like one. What you need to overcome each level is your construction skills because the essence of the game is the construction of bridges over lakes of lava. From simple footbridges to much bigger and more complex bridges, the game will gradually lead you to them.
Mouse control, autosave, 40 levels.
I'm Too Big For The Target
Joseph Mansfield's Sokoban-like puzzler is just one (really big screen) and the walkthrough (there's a link in the comments below the game) takes just over 4 minutes, but you can spend a lot more time with it and you probably will. First you need to understand how the game works and what is required of you, and then work out how to get where you need to go. The game saves itself after overcoming some specific obstacles.
Controls: Arrow keys to move, Z to undo, R to restart to the most recent checkpoint.
We love escape games, and our readers love talking about them and sharing hints! How about you? Let us know what you think, ask for clues, or help out other players in the comments below.
You guys might wanna check your CSS—the mobile version of the new site looks fine, but it's all janky on the desktop side.
A simple change of attribute fixed this for me. Take a look at vs-blog.css on line 738—I overrode the #beta id selector and changed the position attribute from "absolute" to "relative". (It was defined earlier as relative positioning on line 104.) With that change, everything on the page looks perfect.
Growing pains, eh? 🙂
End Of The Hourglass has a nice aesthetic, but what on earth was that all about? 😁 I did notice one small glitch—when dragging the screen to see the right side of the room, it kept jumping to the grandfather clock. There must be a stray hotspot or something, but it's only a minor thing and doesn't interfere with gameplay.
Ack—it appears Hellgineers has disappeared from that site. From the developer's Itch.io page, I'd wager he decided to start charging for it and killed off any demos. 🙁
I'm Too Big For The Target was excellent, very creative. I didn't totally get some parts of what was happening until quite near the end.
